Fortress were an American band active in the mid-1980s who achieved cult status with their 1984 album of the same name. 20th Century Music are re-releasing this CD with three bonus tracks remastered in 2018. It offers typical US metal of the time, as it could have come from Warrior, the early Virgin Steele or the Rods. Of course, the sound has to make a few compromises due to its age. In addition to the great songs like "Metal Meltdown" or the Dokken-heavy "Into The Night", singer Frank Campobasso is particularly impressive with his high voice. (BS)
